The Security Services Committee of the Parliament, the 241 Committee, has decided to investigate the security breach of the President and the obstruction of his motorcade by members of the opposition party, PPM.

The matter was referred to the 241 Committee by the Chairman of the 241 Committee, Majority Leader of the Parliament, Leader of the MDP Parliamentary Group, and Addu North Hithadhoo MP, Mohamed Aslam.

Aslam said the issue of the President's security breach has been submitted to the committee and the committee will decide how to proceed with the matter today.

Many people have been criticizing the police and MNDF for what happened during the obstruction of the President's motorcade. Many described it as a failure of the police and MNDF.

The motorcade of the President was intercepted on his return trip after attending a ceremony in Hulhumale'. No one was injured in the clashes.
