Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed (Hanafy) has resigned from Jumhooree Party.

Hanafy left JP today after he had been appointed as an advisor to JP leader Qasim Ibrahim yesterday.

According to sources, Hanafy resigned because he was unhappy with JP's decision on the presidential election.

Hanafy, who left JP today, had also contested for the post of deputy leader of the party at the party's last congress. However, he had lost the election.
