Male' City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his concerns over the Police putting stickers on vehicles of people attending prayers.

The Mayor said today that during mosque congregation hours, taxis, motorcycles and other vehicles should not have stickers put on them and be fined for being parked while the people are attending prayers. He urged the Police not to do this especially during Ramadan.

The Police have been criticized by members of the public for increasing the use of stickers in Male', which the Police have said is being done to regulate traffic flow in the city.

The Maldives Police Service has stated that they are making special efforts to maintain traffic flow in the city during the month of Ramadan. As such, the Police have said that special efforts will be made to maintain traffic flow in areas where mosques are located.
