Former President Mohamed Nasheed has responded to the words of Addu City Mayor Ali Nizar by saying Addu City and this country will remain even after them.
Mohamed Nasheed has announced that he will not support President Solih in the presidential election. Ali Nizar has stated that therefore Nasheed is two-faced, and that if you want to develop Addu, you have to support President Solih as there is no other way to develop Addu other than giving the President a second term.
In response to Nizar's words, Nasheed said that it is sad that he thinks Addu can only be developed by an opportunity given to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
"Even after me and you, Addu and this country will remain," said Nasheed.
In a message to a WhatsApp group of political leaders of Addu, Nizar said he would not trust what Nasheed says as a two-faced person. Nizar also asked Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb to forward his message to Nasheed.
Nizar said that Gan Airport cannot be talked about without President Ibrahim Solih (Ibu) getting a second term. And that President Ibu's work on the development of Addu can be completed when he is given a second term.
"Tell Nasheed that the things President Ibu is doing for the development of Addu will be completed by giving him a second term. Two-faced talks cannot be trusted," said Nizar.
While Nizar has said this, the government has been carrying out many projects for the development of Addu. Even now, Addu City land reclamation and airport development projects have been started.
Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has also stated before that Addu City will benefit a lot and move forward with various infrastructure projects implemented there by the government. The government estimates that 6000 beds will be open for tourists with the project that seeks to develop Gan International Airport to the latest standards.
