The Elections Commission has decided to hold by-elections of three islands on May 6.
The Elections Commission said the polls will be held on May 6 for the by-elections for the female member of the V. Rakeedhoo council, the vacant seats of the V. Thinadhoo Women's Development Committee, and a member of the ADh. Dhidhdhoo council.
While one female member must be elected to the Rakeedhoo council, five members must be elected to the Thinadhoo Women's Development Committee, and one councilor for Dhidhdhoo. The deadline for nominations is 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 6.
The list of eligible voters for this election was released by EC on March 22. EC has stated that the deadline for submitting complaints to the registry is 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 2.
