The government has decided to dismiss Hussain Amru from his position as Managing Director of the State Trading Organization (STO).

Spokesperson for the President's Office, Miuvaan Mohamed has stated that there are always changes being made in the operation of government companies. And that Amru has been removed from the post of Managing Director of STO as part of such a change.

According to information received, the President's Office has now sent the order to the Privatization and Corporatization Board. Therefore, Amru is expected to be dismissed very soon.

This decision comes after Amru has been working against the government for some time. He has been working very openly against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Amru is a leading member of former President Mohamed Nasheed's Fikurehge Dhirun movement.
