Major Hussain Rasheed has been appointed as the Information Officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

The MNDF Information Officer is the official provider of information about MNDF to the media. A soldier is prohibited from giving such information to any media in their personal capacity. MNDF has stated that such information can only be shared by the designated MNDF Information Officer or by a person authorized by the Integrated Headquarters.
