Former Executive Director of the now dissolved Maldives Democracy Network (MDN) Shahindha Ismail has stated that Adhaalath Party has no policy and the party should be said no to.

Shahindha’s MDN was dissolved on December 19, 2019 by the government of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for publishing a report that blasphemed Islam. Adhaalath Party was among the leading parties that advocated for the abolition of MDN.

Shahindha has questioned the party's true political weight as it has decided to form an alliance with President Solih in the upcoming presidential election. She questioned the progress the country has made so far with Adhaalath in the government.

In addition, Shahindha said that the only thing that Adhaalath does is spreading extremist ideology in the country, and that she cannot see them doing anything else.

"Policies have not been formulated. I still believe that it is better to hand over religious matters to a good religious scholar than to give part of the government to Adhaalath Party. Should say no to Adhaalath Party," said Shahindha.

While Shahindha's criticism has been directed at Adhaalath Party, the party has decided to support President Solih in the upcoming presidential election. There are some religious scholars in the country who have criticized this decision of the party.
