The Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) has announced that online nursing courses will not be accepted.

MQA said in an announcement yesterday that the long term use of the e-learning delivery modality for nursing programs is not permitted by the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council, which gives licenses to nurses.

Therefore, MQA said they cannot allow nursing courses to be conducted online.

MQA noted in their announcement that they had already asked colleges not to conduct some programs using e-learning delivery modality after October 20, 2022.

MQA has directed higher education institutions to stop offering nursing courses in e-learning delivery modality by the end of the current semester as proposed by the Nursing Council. At the same time, it stated that MQA would not accept such courses in accordance with the advice of the Nursing Council.
