Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef has stated that MDP Vice President Mohamed Shifaz (Shippe) has not done anything Shareef and other party members did not do to get MDP into power.
Shareef's remarks came after MDP President Mohamed Nasheed said that no one has sacrificed more than party Vice President Mohamed Shifaz to establish this government, reacting to Shifaz' removal from the position of Minister at the President's Office.
In addition to Nasheed, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and North Galolhu MP Eva Abdulla said what Shifaz did for MDP was of immeasurable value.
Referring to this, Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef said that MDP Vice President Mohamed Shifaz has not done anything Shareef and other party members did not do to get MDP into power. And that Shifaz had been paid with a high position as a reward for his work.
Shifaz was appointed as Minister at the President's Office on November 22, 2018. He was fired yesterday. This happened while a lot of people were criticizing him for getting his salary without attending work.
After the dismissal of Shifaz, MDP Deputy Chairperson Ibrahim Waheed (Madhana Iburey) was appointed as the new Minister at the President's Office yesterday.
