The government has decided to have Ghaazee Building, which houses some government offices, demolished and a parking zone built on the land.
The Planning Ministry said today that it is working to have Ghaazee Building demolished by June 20 as it has become very old and unusable.
The Ministry said the offices of the Maldives Correctional Service and the Auditor General within the building are being vacated now. The government has decided to develop a parking zone on the land.
Earlier, the government had demolished Huravee Building too and developed a parking zone there. Both Huravee Building and Ghaazee Building were built in the green zone where Velana Building is located, which houses many government offices.
A government office building has recently been constructed in Hulhumale' as part of the government's policy to reduce congestion in Male'.
