The High Court has issued an order staying the enforcement of the judgment against Sun Travels to pay Hilton for canceling the agreement with the company to operate Irufushi Resort.

The Singapore International Arbitration Centre has ordered Sun Travels to pay USD 24 million in damages to Hilton. The civil court had ordered the company to pay the money within two weeks last February.

The High Court today issued an order to stay the execution of the civil court judgment as Sun Travels has filed an appeal against the civil court judgment, and because the company could suffer irreparable damage if the judgment is not postponed.

Three judges of the High Court unanimously stayed the civil court's judgment until the case filed by Sun Travels is resolved or otherwise notified.

The Singapore Arbitration ordered Sun Travels to pay USD 24 million in compensation in 2015 for the termination of the contract with Hilton in 2013.
