A team from the Serious and Organized Crime Department of the Police has been deployed to investigate the death of Naeema Moosa, 62, of Annaarumaage, N. Manadhoo.
There are reports that are circulating saying that Naeema was stabbed. According to some of these sources, there was even an attempt at beheading her. However, there has been no official statement from the Police confirming or denying this.
In connection with Naeema's death, the Manadhoo council has officially said in a Viber group that information regarding the people who enter and leave the island should be shared with the Police. At the same time, the Police has also passed on this message to the media last night at 11:37 pm.

The message sent to the Police media group stated that a 62 year old woman who was living alone in Manadhoo was reported missing and Police found her dead in her room yesterday evening. The Police said that her body was on the floor.
Naeema was an employee of the Manadhoo council. All three children of Naeema, who lived alone, live outside the island. Her family was informed by her co-workers after two days without any contact from her.
