After being in an accident in R. Maduvvari today, the Secretary General of the Island Council, Aslam Abdulla, has passed away.

The incident reportedly occurred when Aslam was caught between the Council pickup truck and a wall while the pickup was reversed. Aslam was behind the pickup when it was reversed.

The incident occurred today afternoon. Aslam reportedly suffered a severed leg in the incident as the pickup was entering the Council garage.

Aslam passed away while undergoing treatment at the Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.

Regarding this incident, the Police said that it was reported today afternoon that an accident occured when a pickup truck was being reversed and hit a person behind it. Police said the injured man died while being treated at the Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
