Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef has stated that even though talks on forming a coalition continue between former President Mohamed Nasheed's Fikurehge Dhirun faction and Jumhooree Party (JP), JP leader Qasim Ibrahim will not make Nasheed the Prime Minister in the middle of Qasim's presidential term.

Shareef said today that some people are saying that a coalition agreement between Fikurehge Dhirun and JP has not yet been reached.

The Maradhoo MP said that a coalition agreement could not be reached because Qasim did not agree to a parliamentary system. And that the two sides have agreed on everything except that.

Shareef said that he does not think Qasim Ibrahim will agree to give Nasheed premiership in the middle of the term. And that therefore, Nasheed has no choice but to continue with what he has got.

While discussions on forming a coalition in the presidential election have been held between JP and MDP President Nasheed's faction, no decision has been taken yet as Shareef has said. And while JP has invited various parties to form a coalition with them, so far no party has announced that it has reached an agreement to form a coalition with JP.
