Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that 52 percent of the dredging and reclamation operations of the ADh. Kunburudhoo Shore Protection Project have been completed.
One of the biggest promises made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during his presidential campaign was to protect the shores of islands. As such, the government had awarded the contract to protect ADh. Kunburudhoo's shore to MTCC.
MTCC said that under this project, 24,000 cubic metres of land will be dredged and reclaimed, and 430 metres of rock boulder rivetment and 185 metres of geotube rivetment will be constructed.
In addition, an area of 7,171 cubic metres in the shore will be replenished.
MTCC said the project is a MVR 21.2 million project.
