The Ministry of Health has donated a PCR and extraction machine used for COVID-19 tests to the Maldives National University.
State Minister Ahmed Adil signed the agreement to handover the items at a ceremony held at the Health Ministry today. The items were accepted from MNU by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Aishath Sanoora.
The Health Ministry said today that the National University plays an important role in strengthening the health system. And that the machine was donated in recognition of the important role played by laboratory technologists during the pandemic, and thus to develop the field further.
Recently in Male' City, COVID-19 cases have been increasing. Last week alone 80 people were tested positive.
