One such instance has gone viral on twitter and is winning hearts online. A boy named Saurav Kishan from Kerala’s Kozhikode is known as ‘Chota Mohamed Rafi’ for his beautiful versions of his songs. India’s famous actors and businessman have been sharing his videos online. His fans has increased globally through social media. His videos on youtube has been getting more views and shares as well.
Our team tried to get an interview from Saurav Kishan, to our ‘Ras online’ audience. We reached out to Saurav Kishan the ‘Chota Mohamed Rafi’ of Kerela. We thanked him on behalf of ‘Ras online’ for giving us sometime and sharing us a bit about him.
Ras: Saurav Kishan you are famous as ‘Chota Mohamed Rafi’, but when di you figure out that you can sing in similar voice of Mohamed Rafi?
Saurav: Actually i went to a music competition,There was a famous music director in Malayalam industry, Jhonson master, He told me to concentrate on Mohammed Rafi saheb songs, So I got that tag called “chotta Rafi “.
Ras: We have known that you have participated in some of the singing competitions, would you give some details on which competitions you have participated so far?
Saurav: Gandharva Sangeetham junior, 2010, I was a semi finalist.
Ras: Saurav, do you like listening to old songs or is it just Mohamed Rafi songs you listen to?
Saurav: My life is always happy when I listen to Rafi Sahebs Songs and I love to listen to old songs, Kishore da, Mahendra kapoor, Hemant kumar, Lata ji, Asha ji, Manna Dey sab, Mukesh da.
Ras: When did you figure out that you like Mohamed Rafi songs?
Saurav: My grandpa used to play Rafi sahebs songs in his gramophone. So I used to wake up morning and go to sleep at night listening to his songs. So since then.
Ras: Do you plan to sing only Mohamed Rafi songs or would you like to sing cover songs from other artists as well?
Saurav: I love music, I like to sing every artists songs
Ras: Do you have plans to build your career in the music industry? If not, what do you want to become?
Saurav: I need to do experiments in music, I want to explore more in music, rest is with Almighty. I love to be a part in music industry. I have also joined in the concerts held to celebrate Mohammed Rafi’s Birth Anniversary, death Anniversary, every year, since 2012. These concerts were organised by Mohammed Rafi Foundation at Calicut.
Ras: Do you have any plans to produce new songs?
Saurav: Yeah I’m working on it
Ras: Through your youtube cover videos, you have fans globally now and you have fans here in Maldives as well. Would you like to say something to your fans?
