Road Development Corporation Ltd (RDC) has been awarded the contract to develop the roads in R. Alifushi to modern standards.
The agreement for the work was signed on behalf of RDC at a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry by the company's Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik. Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The MVR 1 million project has been awarded to RDC to complete the work within 540 days.
Under the project, asphalt will be laid on 8.3 kilometres of road, along with the establishment of a drainage system. In addition to this, street lights will also be installed.
The government is already implementing development projects in Alifushi. The most notable of these is the airport development project.
