The Ministry of Tourism has stated that more than 600,000 tourists have visited Maldives so far this year, which is an increase of 19.3 percent over the previous year.

According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Tourism, 606,395 tourists visited Maldives as of the 15th of this month. This is an increase of 19.3 percent compared to the arrival of 508,306 tourists during the same period last year.

According to statistics, an average of 5,775 tourists visit Maldives daily. The average length of stay of tourists in Maldives is 8 days.

Looking at the markets that attract the most tourists to Maldives, Russia topped the list with 73,578 tourists. India is in second place with 64,250 tourists. And the UK is the third largest market with 59,616 tourists.

The government aimed to bring in 1.6 million tourists last year. This target was achieved on the 20th of December. This year, the government aims to attract 1.8 million tourists, setting a tourism record.
