STELCO has advised people not to drop their air conditioner temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius.

STELCO said that since the Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast hot weather during this season, they advise the people to use only the necessary amount of electricity.

STELCO advised people to be more careful in using cooling appliances like ACs, urging people to keep the temperature below 25 degrees Celsius. The state electric company also advised people to give priority to inverters when buying electronic devices.

April and May are expected to be the hottest months of the year for Maldives, according to the experts.

STELCO said that since these days coincided with the month of Ramadan, usage of electricity has increased. And that statistics show that the demand for electricity generation has increased during the night too due to the heat.
