The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has stated that money received as Fitr Zakat till the 29th of Ramadan has been deposited into the accounts of the people registered on the poverty list.
The Islamic Ministry said last night that a total of MVR 9,003,324.05 (nine million three thousand three hundred and twenty-four rufiyaa, five laari) has been collected as Fitr Zakat till the 29th of Ramadan. 175,485 people paid zakat during the period.
The Islamic Ministry said that out of 8,446 eligible people, 1,736 people from Male' City have been paid MVR 3,450 each on the 20th of this month.
Last Ramadan as Fitr Zakat was also accepted from grains, as of 20th April, 2023 (29th Ramadan, 1444), a total of 12,989.3 (Twelve thousand nine hundred and eighty-nine point three) kg of grains were received as Fitr Zakat.
The grains received as Fitr Zakat have also been distributed by April 20 according to the Islamic Ministry.
