The State Electric Company (Stelco) has announced that there will be a brief power outage in Male' City today afternoon while work is done to upgrade the electricity grid.
Stelco said the power outage will last for about one and a half hours. The power outage will affect Mahchangoalhi's Chaandhanee Magu, Iskandharu Magu, Dhevina Magu, Nikagas Magu and Dhilbahaaru Magu.
In addition, Stelco said power outages are possible in Majeedhee Magu, Shabunam Magu, Karankaa Magu, Abadhahfehi Magu, Hadheebee Magu and Soasan Magu in Galolhu and Henveiru.
In order to upgrade the electric grid, the service will be interrupted between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm today.
Stelco said it would restore power as soon as possible. Stelco also apologized for any inconvenience caused to customers during the power outage.
