The President's Office Spokesperson Miuvan Mohammed has said that the government will not give priority to anyone in paying compensation for the cancellation of agreements with various parties.

Miuvan was responding to a question about allegations that the government is discriminating against government-affiliated persons and others in awarding compensation in various cases.

Miuvan said the government believes in restoring the rights of the victims of the agreements illegally canceled by the previous government. The government has done a lot of work for that so far, he said.

After taking office, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih set up a special committee to compensate the agreements canceled by the previous government.

Miuvan said the committee formed by the government has worked without any discrimination. Instead of giving priority to a particular issue, the committee worked to seek compensation for those who have been treated unfairly outside the legal framework, he said.

Miuvan said he did not give priority to discrimination or any particular person in the work of the committee.

"They will be done with justice and fairness. If there is any mistake in any of them, there will be an opportunity to report it to the relevant authorities. Miuvan added.

Billions have been paid in compensation for illegally canceled agreements by the previous government. Some such cases have been decided out of court.
