The case of fraudulently extorting money from people by showing false housing promises has been dropped.

The matter was moved by MP Abdullah Riaz in the parliament today.

The complaint filed by Abdullah Riaz said that large sums of money have been taken from many people in the name of housing and the flats have not been completed within the agreed period. Some of the flats under construction in the first phase of Hulhumale have been stopped and some of the flats have been taken money from the people but the work is not going on.

At the same time, there have been increased complaints and concerns about the fraudulent sale of the same flat to many people. The case also alleges that some of the ordinary people are being deprived of their life's earnings while others are being deprived of their earnings by taking large loans.

Such things have doubled the financial burden on the people and the common people have sold their debts, but the relevant authorities and parents are not taking any action on such issues, he said.

Therefore, the emergency calls for more monitoring by the authorities in awarding housing projects.

26 members voted against the motion while 18 members voted in favor.
