Maldives signs a Double Tax Avoidance Agreement with Malaysia.
The Agreement aims to enhance taxpayer certainty and avoid double taxation of income from residents of both countries.
The agreement was signed by Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer, on behalf of the government of the Maldives. On behalf of the Government of Malaysia, Ahmed Maslan signed the agreement.
According to Finance Ministry, this Agreement will also strengthen the economic relations between Maldives and Malaysia by contributing towards facilitation of cross-border investments.
The signing ceremony was held at the Malaysian Parliament building.
