Bilehdhoo and Nilandhoo islands of Faafu atoll harbor projects has been awarded.

The harbor of these two Islands have been handed over to MTCC.

Chief Executive Officer Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of MTCC at the handover ceremony held today. Permanent Secretary, Zeeniya Hameed signed on behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

The Bilehdhoo harbor development project will protect the beach to solve the problem of harbor use and erosion.

Scope of works include, harbor basin dredging operations of 45,100 cbm, channel dredging operations of 2900cbm, construction of a 419m breakwater; a 620m revetment; a 258m sand filled breakwater outer revetment; a 224 m sand filled breakwater inner revetment, construction of a ramp (11m x 11m); a concrete jetty (133m x 2m); installation of harbor lights; a 2977 sqm pavement and 617m kerbs.

The value of the project is MVR 66.96 million.

Scope of works included at Nilandhoo harbor are, basin dredging operations of 55,141cbm, channel dredging operations of 6933cbm, construction of a 261m breakwater; a 75m revetment; a 194 m sand filled breakwater outer revetment; a 188 m sand filled breakwater inner revetment; a 237m quay wall; installation of mooring buoys, construction of a ramp (11m x 11m); a concrete bridge (18m x 2m), installation of harbor lights; a 1151 sqm harbor pavement and 204m kerbs.

The value of the project is MVR 61.75 million.
