The fifth tourism master plan was released today.

The Tourism Master Plan focuses on what tourism wants to achieve over the next five years. The last tourism master plan was developed in 2013.

The "Fifth Tourism Master Plan 2023-2027" was launched by Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail at a ceremony held at the National University Auditorium this morning.

The master plan, which was led by former tourism minister Ali Waheed, includes measures to keep pace with Maldives rivals in tourism. In addition, tourism in the provinces will be expanded and the income will benefit the entire village.

At the same time, it includes ways to increase tourism profitability, increase tourist facilities and create opportunities for new services and experiences. The masterplan also includes the problems in the tourism sector and how they can be solved.

The master plan, which was developed by the Ministry of Tourism with the free assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), took three years to complete.
