The tenth amendment to the Development Objective Grant Agreement (DOAG) has been signed between the Maldives and the United States of America, today.
The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between the Maldives and the United States of America. His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs signed the tenth amendment to the DOAG on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Maldives and on behalf of the Government of the United States of America, USAID Mission Director Gabriel Grau signed the agreement.
The DOAG is a landmark development cooperation agreement signed between the Maldives and the United States on 12 March 2019. Over the years, there has been gradual increases in the funding allocated. Through the tenth amendment concluded today, the United States Government has committed an additional USD 7.2 million to the Maldives. The funds will be utilized to strengthen the technical capacity of the Maldives in managing public finances and bolster the resilience of the country's economic and democratic governance. With the signing of the tenth amendment, the total value of funding increases to USD 36.1 million.
