Maldives Police services stop a terrorism act in connection to the extremism and conducted further special operations to investigate.

In a tweet, Police states that through the intelligence information received, a special operation has been conducted to stop a terrorism act before it could have taken place and made arrests in connection to the pre-planned terrorism act.

Maldives Police Service is conducting the special operation in Male’ City, Male’ atoll sea, and Th. Thimarafushi. Further detailing in the tweet, Police informs that the five people arrested in connection to the terrorism act was arrested three people from Th. Thimarafushi island and the rest two people from Male’ City, and a sea vessel.

Police mention that more details will be shared from further investigation of the case.
