The Youth and Sports Minister Ahmed Mahloof has stated that this government has granted land plots to the eligible recipients fairly, and that is an irrevocable fact.

In a tweet today, Minister Mahloof said following the opportunity open to propose a complaint for the preliminary list of recipients of land plots, within just a couple of days only a few complaints were raised against the list. Therefore it is proof that a good job has been done, said Minister.

Mahloof said it is an irreplaceable fact that land plots have been granted to all eligible beneficiaries without discrimination of any political party or family.

The government released the preliminary list of recipients of land plots - planned to be granted to permanent residents of Male’, under the Binveriya (let people own land) Housing Scheme on Monday.

According to the 'Gedhoruveringe Committee', out of the 19,858 applications received under the 'Binveriya' Housing Scheme, 12,794 were eligible.

The preliminary list of land recipients announced under the housing scheme included 10,314 recipients including people who applied jointly and as separate individuals who would receive land plots under the scheme. The list is open for public to raise complaints or inquiries until July 15, 2023, through the 'Gedhoruverin Portal.'

The 'Binveriya' Housing Scheme is the largest housing initiative undertaken in the country. The programme received 15,164 applications from 23,088 individuals. The scheme aligns with the administration's commitment to providing housing and securing a life of dignity for all citizens.
