The Parliament has passed a resolution on holding an invisible vote to change the system of government.
After debating the resolution on the change of the system of government, the members of the House voted in favor of it and accepted it.
The Democrats Party, formed by President Mohamed Nasheed, moved the resolution, which took place on the 13th of this month.
During today's sitting, 35 out of 36 members present voted in favor of the resolution. The resolution first proposed a referendum on the system change before November 30. However, MP Ilyas from the Democrats today asked to conduct the vote before October 30.
Following the acceptance of the resolution, the full House committee is expected to begin work on it tomorrow morning.
