The fruitfulness of the republican government can only be enjoyed by everyone working together, President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said.
Sending congratulations to the people of Maldives on the 55th Republic Day, Dr. Muizzu emphasized that the benefits of a republican government can only be enjoyed when the government and the people work together to lead the country.
Dr. Muizzu, in his short speech, said that peace should come to the country and everyone should be united.
“Therefore, I would like to congratulate all of you and urge you to continue this way,” said Dr. Muizzu.
Dr. Muizzu wished the Presidents, Ministers, Businessmen, Leaders of Political Parties, and all those who worked to bring the republican system to this day.
The eighth President-elect of the Republic of the Maldives, Dr. Muizzu, will be sworn in on the 17th of this month. He won the presidential election with a landslide majority of 54 percent.
The Republic Day of the Maldives is celebrated on the day of the establishment of the Second Republic of the Maldives. It was 11 November 1968. Mr. Ibrahim Nasir was elected as the first President of the Second Republic.
