The Parliament Office has decided to invite the former President and PPM President Abdullah Yameen to the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The Parliament Office said today that all former presidents will be invited to the ceremony, where the President-elect, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, will take oath as the next President of the Maldives. According to the Parliament Office, the invitees list will include former President Yameen.
Although President Yameen will be invited to the swearing-in ceremony, he is still serving an 11-year prison sentence.
However, Yamin is currently under house arrest after the Corrections Service granted further relief on his Prison sentence with conditions to allow Yamin to live in the city after he was transferred to house arrest.
