Ahmed Shakeel appointed as the Chief Judge at the Criminal Court and Uz. Haathif Hilmy appointed as the Chief Judge at the High Court.
As per Judicial Service Commission, Shakeel and Hilmy were presented with their letters of appointment by JSC president Hisaan Hussain in a special ceremony.

Judge Shakeel has a Bachelor of Sharia and Master of Sharia from Villa College, with 17 years of experience as a lawyer. Shakeel previously served at the Family Court, Juvenile Court, and Civil Court. Meanwhile, Uz. Haathif has a Bachelor of Law from Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom and has 10 years of experience as a Civil Court judge, and 11 months of experience as a High Court judge.
The ceremony was held at the JSC headquarters on Thursday.
