The Economic Ministry has urged people not to sell onions at high prices.

The Ministry has advised in response to concerns over the recent increase in onion prices in the market.

According to a statement released by the Economic Ministry, onion exports to some countries have been temporarily suspended due to the current weather conditions in India. However, the Ministry has confirmed that no measures have been taken by India to hinder the supply of onions to the Maldives.

Meanwhile, the price of onion has risen by between 20 percent and 50 percent in the past period.

The Ministry said it had held discussions with some onion importers and assured them that they would be able to import onions to the Maldives without any difficulty. The Ministry has also assured that there is no difficulty in importing onions and other essential commodities into the country and that the government will provide an appropriate solution in case of any difficulty in importing essential commodities into the country.

The Ministry's statement urged the government not to increase the price of onion in the market in a manner that would cause inconvenience to the public.
