Minister of Tourism, Abdulla Mausoom has stated that the tourism industry of the Maldives is bouncing back.
The Minister's statement comes in reflection on the number of arrivals in November. As per Minister, November arrivals from some markets broke 2019 November records. Minister Mausoom added that following the increase in the number of arrivals, the Maldives expects to reach a target of 100,000 tourists by 16 December and an annual arrival target of 500,000 by 25 December.
As per the statistics, the number of arrivals from Egypt increased up to 40%, arrivals from Kazakhstan increased up to 24.4%, arrivals from Russia increased up to 5%, while arrivals from Brazil increased up to 2.9%, and arrivals from Ukraine increased up to 0.9%.
