Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with relevant stakeholders regarding streamlining airport services ahead of the peak tourism season in the Maldives.

The discussions were focused on maintaining smooth operations during the peak season while prioritizing the health and safety of workers and tourists. Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem said that the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic demonstrated the importance of collaborating towards the ideal outcome.

The Vice President also noted that safety measures currently in place at the airports are in line with the guideline set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA). However, he emphasized the importance of consistent monitoring and evaluations of the effectiveness of these measures and also advised on further strengthening monitoring mechanisms.

During the meeting, stakeholders discussed the current challenges that they face in service delivery with the Vice President and spoke on ways to overcome them.

The meeting was held this Monday morning at the President’s Office, attended by senior representatives from key stakeholder institutions involved in airport operations.
