President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu co-chaired the Interactive Dialogue, "Revitalizing SIDS' Economies for Accelerated and Sustainable Growth," today at the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4). The Dialogue was co-chaired by H.E. Anders Adlercreutz, the Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering of the Republic of Finland. As co-chair, President Dr. Muizzu delivered both the opening and closing remarks.

The session featured a fireside chat with Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and President of the Conference, and Debra Anne Haaland, Secretary of the Interior, Department of the Interior of the United States of America. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Achim Steiner, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme.

Additionally, the Dialogue included presentations from Mr. Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and Mr. Gerd Müller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Several Heads of State and Delegations attending the SIDS4 Summit also delivered interventions.

This Dialogue marks the first of five Interactive Dialogues scheduled to take place at the SIDS4 Conference, which runs from May 27 to 30, 2024, in Antigua and Barbuda. The event aims to foster insightful discussions and innovative solutions for the unique economic challenges faced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
