President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to work together for mutual development and prosperity.

President Murmu welcomed President Dr. Muizzu and noted the significance of his presence at the swearing-in ceremony on such short notice. She remarked that his attendance reflects the strong and confident bilateral ties between India and the Maldives. Congratulating him on his recent electoral success, President Murmu highlighted the Indian Government's "Neighbourhood First Policy" and expressed her eagerness to continue providing development assistance to the Maldives.

In response, President Dr. Muizzu thanked President Murmu for the warm hospitality and India's ongoing support. He emphasized his dedication to preserving and enhancing the close historical relationship between the two countries. Dr. Muizzu also expressed his anticipation of further strengthening the cooperation between India and the Maldives.
