Former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb
Former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb
Former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb has firmly denied allegations suggesting he met with President Mohammed Muizzu, labeling the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

The accusations, made by the opposition Progressive National Front (PNF), imply a close connection between Adheeb and President Muizzu. Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel, who now leads the PNF, has been prominent in advancing these claims. In response, Adheeb has criticized Jameel for allegedly leveraging his name for political gain.

Adheeb, who has been residing abroad following his pardon by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, clarified that in 2015, he was involved as an advisor in an opposition coalition formed named MUO. This coalition included former President Yameen's lawyer and former Vice President Dr. Jameel. Adheeb asserted that this coalition played a crucial role in the overthrow of President Yameen's government.

"Please don't use my name to make yourself famous politically!" Adheeb stated.

Having been previously sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the MMPRC scandal, Adheeb has been offering guidance on addressing economic issues from abroad.
