President Muizzu noted that digitalisation is being leveraged to manage the Maldives’ scarce resources and enhance public services. He explained that the focus on digitalisation aims to boost economic prospects and improve the quality of life for Maldivians, with particular emphasis on empowering youth and women through initiatives like the Digital Maldives Program.
The President also highlighted digitalisation’s role in addressing environmental challenges, such as using smart technologies and early warning systems to promote sustainability and resilience.
Addressing the complexities of the digital era, President Muizzu pointed out the need for global cooperation. He mentioned the Maldives Development Bank, established to support projects in digital innovation and sustainable development, as a key initiative to overcome financial hurdles.
