Adam Naseer Ibrahim, the Minister of Language, Culture, and Heritage, has revealed plans to develop new museums throughout the Maldives.

In a recent interview with state media PSM, minister emphasized the importance of these initiatives in preserving and celebrating the nation’s civilization.

The minister indicated that he aims to include funding for these museum projects in next year's budget. He highlighted that developing museums and monuments is crucial for safeguarding the Maldives' cultural heritage and providing better access to historical artifacts and relics.

Currently, many heritage items from across the Maldives are housed in the National Museum in Male'. Minister pointed out that the lack of local development and engagement with cultural monuments in the provinces means that many potential benefits of such heritage sites are not being realized.

By expanding the network of museums, the government hopes to enhance cultural preservation efforts and make historical education more accessible to people throughout the country. The proposed projects are expected to play a significant role in celebrating and maintaining the rich history of the Maldives.
