President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that his visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly session will be beneficial for the Maldivian people, with positive outcomes expected in the coming days.

Speaking to reporters before departing for the United States, President Muizzu emphasized that his participation in the UN General Assembly and various meetings would focus on issues of critical importance to the Maldives. He highlighted the importance of engaging with global leaders and organizations that can bring meaningful benefits to the country.

President Muizzu noted that it is essential to represent the Maldives at the UN, given the current global context. "I think going to the UN is very important, especially in the current situation. It is crucial to speak on behalf of the Maldives," he said.

The President also mentioned that he plans to participate in as many activities as possible during his visit, stating that this trip will be fruitful for the Maldivian people. He expressed confidence that the results of the trip will become evident soon.

"I am confident that this journey will be beneficial to the people, and the results will be successful in the coming days," President Muizzu added.

In addition, President Muizzu reaffirmed the government's commitment to its foreign policy, which is always in the best interest of the Maldives. He reiterated his "Maldives First Policy," aimed at strengthening relationships with countries that can support the nation’s development.

“It is the best way for us to develop close relationships with those who are in the best interest of the Maldives,” he said.
