The government will not do anything that will adversely affect the independence and sovereignty of the Maldives, PNC Parliamentary Group Member Ahmed Azaan Marzoug stated.
Azaan was responding to a report in a local newspaper regarding discussions on establishing an Indian consulate in Addu City. The report noted that opposition leaders from PPM/PNC had previously protested against the consulate's establishment under the banner of "Save Addu City."
Azaan emphasized that President Dr. Muizzu’s government will not follow past actions, referencing the previous MDP administration.
“Today's government will not do anything that will adversely affect the Maldives' independence and sovereignty,” Azaan, a former journalist, asserted.
