The Ministry of Transportation has introduced new regulations, under which vehicles involved in dangerous or reckless driving will be confiscated for 30 days. The updated rules, aimed at improving road safety, apply to vehicles seized for various traffic offenses.
Under the new policy, vehicles caught exceeding the speed limit on more than two occasions will be detained for 15 days. Similarly, vehicles driven without a valid license or those modified beyond their licensed specifications will also face a 15-day detention period.
For vehicles illegally parked, the new rules specify that they will be released within 48 hours. Additionally, vehicles seized due to registration issues or altered engine and chassis numbers are subject to special conditions before release. In cases of traffic accidents, the vehicles will be released within seven days after the investigation concludes.
The Ministry of Transport stated that these changes are designed to enhance road safety and encourage greater respect for traffic laws and regulations. The rules are part of broader efforts to reduce road accidents and ensure safer driving environments.
