Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa warned the United Nations on Monday that Gaza is experiencing one of the "darkest chapters in modern history," citing the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel's ongoing occupation.

Speaking at the UN, Mustafa expressed that Palestinians have committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming for shared prosperity and human dignity. However, he highlighted that these efforts are being severely undermined by the ongoing conflict.

“For nearly a year now, Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza has led to unprecedented loss, suffering, and humanitarian catastrophe,” Mustafa stated. He also pointed to the situation in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, where Palestinians face "systemic threats" under Israeli control.

“For over 76 years, our people have been forced to endure multiple man-made catastrophes that have directly undermined our efforts to achieve justice, peace, and prosperity,” Mustafa added, stressing that despite the long years of occupation and oppression, the Palestinian people remain steadfast, believing that human capital is their greatest asset.

The Palestinian leader urged the international community to take meaningful steps to address the humanitarian crisis and push forward peace efforts, underscoring the need for justice and dignity for the Palestinian people.
