President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu has extended a special invitation to Bollywood stars, encouraging them to consider the Maldives as a prime location for future film productions. The President made this announcement during the India-Maldives Business Forum held in Mumbai on Tuesday.

During the forum, President Muizzu emphasized the vital role tourism plays in strengthening the already close ties between the Maldives and India. He highlighted that over 100,000 Indian tourists had visited the Maldives this year, contributing significantly to the nation's tourism success. The President also noted that the Maldives has been recognized as a leading global travel destination for four consecutive years, with India being a key partner in achieving that distinction.

Following the forum, the Maldives-India Tourism Networking Evening provided a platform for industry experts from both countries to explore potential investment opportunities in the Maldives’ thriving tourism sector. Several Bollywood celebrities attended the event, including Shilpa Shetty, Arbaaz Khan, Sunny Kaushal, Sonakshi Sinha, and Karishma Kapoor. The President personally met with these stars, encouraging them to visit the Maldives and help promote the destination to their audiences.



The event underscored the Maldives' appeal as a world-class destination for both tourism and film production, offering unique opportunities for collaboration between the Bollywood film industry and the Maldivian tourism sector.
