January 17th, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 51 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded includes 19 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 32 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. This includes 28 people positive from operational resorts and 03 people positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 14,513 cases, including 917 active cases to Covid-19 recorded within the last 24 hours.

So far, HPA has taken 364,325 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 3,003 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 35 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 13,540.

According to HPA, there are 69 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 49 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
