President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured the residents of R. Rasgetheemu that development projects for the island will be expedited throughout this year.
Speaking to the island’s residents during his ongoing tour of North Maalhosmadulu Atoll, the President emphasized that the Government's goal is to initiate all promised projects from his Presidential campaign this year, with some of them set to be completed within the same timeframe.
Key developments include the commencement of harbour construction, the completion of new classrooms and a hall at the island’s school, as well as the initiation of projects aimed at improving sports infrastructure, waste management solutions, and healthcare facilities in the coming months.
President Muizzu highlighted that ministers accompanying him had already engaged in detailed discussions with the Island Council, Women's Development Committee, and heads of local institutions. He assured that these projects would be carried out with coordinated efforts between the council, ministries, and relevant companies.
To conclude his remarks, the President expressed his willingness to return to Rasgetheemu at the end of the year to celebrate the successful completion of these projects if the residents wished.
In addition, during the ceremony, the Bank of Maldives officially handed over the ATM establishment project to the Island Council, marking another milestone in Rasgetheemu's development.
